I love a good sandwich. And I love a sandwich you can make in your toaster even more. Enter Fall Toaster Bag Season*.
What you see above is the work of a modern marvel called a toaster bag. Originally used for such plebeian delights as a basic American slice grilled cheese, I’ve now figured out a way to step it up a few notches.
Now languishing green onions, molding fruit, or two skimpy slices of mortadella have a place to call home. What a great way to feed your family without the time and price tag normally associated with a gourmet sandwich.
The process is simple:
1) Select your protein and cheese you want to toast and put it in between your bread. May I suggest two outside layers of cheese.
2) Grill, slice, and prepare any veggies you may want to add after the sandwich is done toasting.
3) Get your condiments ready to roll. I mean it, open as may jars as you can think of: jams, chutneys, tapanades, chili crunch…all are fair game.

*Not actually a real thing. But you know what they say, “if you build it, they will come.”
